How we increased revenue by €1million for ProtonVPN

ProtonVPN is a SaaS brand, with around 500K visitors a month. Here Sinead discusses how she finds working with our team and how we’ve achieved a 17x return on investment, increasing subscription revenues by around €1 million from their affiliate landing pages.

My name is Sinead Lambert. I’m Head of Partnerships and I work for Proton. Proton has an ecosystem of cybersecurity products. We’ve seen a significant growth in revenue since working with the Browser to Buyer team and

So I have heard about Dave from Browser to Buyer for I’d say around seven years. He worked very closely with one of my main affiliates, Comparitech in the VPN space and

We engaged with the team with Browser to Buyer to help us improve the conversion rate of our affiliate landing pages. We were scaling the affiliate program massively and we needed help improving the conversion rate and we’ve had some great wins so far.

Once we got the Convert tool installed on our site, the team were extremely fast doing all their research that would help us understand the traffic better on our landing page, which then enabled us to get a great winner before the Black Friday season started.

I think what surprised me the most was the research that they did at the start to understand the motivators and the blockers of why people weren’t subscribing. Like with that initial analysis that they did, we learned about a better traffic that we received, then based on that, we created a whole road map of tests to do.

Working with Browser To Buyer was so straightforward, it’s so easy. I felt like I was in really safe hands. I knew the team was on it. I knew that they were in full control. We met once a week. We’d run through the results and discuss what was on the roadblock for future tests. So it was brilliant to know that they were constantly looking at the conversion rate of the landing pages.

I suppose the biggest results we’ve seen with the Browser to Buyer team is the impact on our checkout page. So from their research, we realized that a lot of the traffic we were getting, the people weren’t that technical, but our landing pages were very technical with a lot of jargon. So they did a number of things, but one of the most significant was translate the technical jargon in more simplified terms and then that alone helped increase the conversion rate by over 11.5%.

There’s wins that we’re having now on our affiliate landing pages that they’re rolling out across the whole business, across all the four products sites as well. So that means that the impact we’ve seen on ProtonVPN is 4x. So it’s really exciting.

The best thing about working with the team and with Dave was the fact that they were so easy to work with. And by that, mean, no matter what I suggested or no matter what crazy idea I had, Dave found a way to make it work.

Working for a cybersecurity company means there’s tons of restrictions that we have, tons of things that we can’t do. And they managed to circumvent all of that and still get great results.
